Offered is a rare set of marked Hyalyn pottery (porcelainite) salt and pepper shakers. These have detailed decals with gold gilt trim along the bottoms and cork stoppers. The hyalyn pottery was owned and managed by Leslie and Frances Moody from 1946 until 1973, when Leslie passed away, and their North Carolina building was closed. Since both Leslie and Frances had studied ceramics professionally, the body and glazes of their pottery may have been more “professional” than some potteries who had home-grown artists.
